The Controller MC4 12V EDS KIT for ST5 & ST3 is the central control unit for the Stromer ST5 & ST3 and forms the heart of the electronic drive control. It coordinates communication between the motor, sensors, and control unit, ensuring a precise, dynamic, and responsive riding experience.
The new EDS controller MC4 is the successor to the ASI controllers. It has different connections. Therefore, when switching from an ASI controller to an EDS controller, some cables must be replaced. And since the EDS has different dimensions, the downtube cover must also be replaced.
This KIT is required if the ASI controller Art. No. 403236 needs to be replaced in an ST3, ST5, ST5 ABS. If the older ASI controller Art. No. 401011 is still installed in these models, Art. No. 405385 Wicket Cable must be ordered in addition to this KIT to match the 48V connection.

The installation of the controller is at your own risk. We accept no liability for damages caused by improper installation or incorrect handling. Devices that have already been installed or used are excluded from return. Please ensure before installation that the product has been correctly selected and will be professionally installed – ideally by an authorized specialist workshop.
📩 Registration in the Stromer Portal:
For the new controller to be correctly registered in the Stromer Portal, we need your frame number. 👉 You can find this in the battery compartment of your Stromer bike. Please send us the frame number by e-mail so that we can carry out the registration for you.
📄 Installation instructions available separately: The corresponding installation instructions for installing the controller are not included in the scope of delivery, but can be purchased separately as a download. They contain detailed step-by-step instructions for professional installation.
Delivery Time & Shipping Partner
All items in stock are usually prepared for shipment within 1–2 business days and dispatched with DHL. After shipment, you will receive a tracking number that allows you to track your delivery at any time.
For pre-ordered spare parts, you will receive a delivery date after purchase. This usually takes 7-10 business days.
Information for Customers from Switzerland
For orders to Switzerland, we cooperate with MeinEinkauf to ensure smooth customs clearance and delivery.
You will receive two tracking numbers:
- A DHL tracking number for shipping within Germany
- A MeinEinkauf tracking number for delivery in Switzerland
The purchase price in the shop is already adjusted to the Swiss VAT.
VAT & Customs for Swiss Customers
Spare Parts: For spare parts, there is no possibility of VAT exemption by German customs – Swiss tax will be levied accordingly.
Bikes/Bicycles: For bikes, VAT exemption can be claimed under certain conditions. The prerequisite for this is that the customer organizes the shipping within Switzerland themselves.
